New York - Measurement Survey of Fast Food Franchise

THINGS YOU WILL NEED TO CONDUCT THE SURVEY:

• Review the survey entirely. There are photos on the survey to guide you in what to look for. If needed, you may print the survey and take it with you. 

• PRINTED Letter of Authorization. You must have a printed copy to give to the manager for them to keep. If you are conducting more than one audit, you will need one copy per store. 

• You must be comfortable enough to speak to the manager when you arrive. 

• Phone that is charged AND can take photos. 

• Measuring tape OR app on your smart phone that can measure. 

• Closed-toed shoes/sneakers; you may not wear sandals or flip flops. Professional dress is required.

NOTES REGARDING THESE SURVEYS:

• DO NOT go between 11am-2pm; you cannot interrupt the location during the lunch rush.

• You are required to check the hours of operation before you go; some locations may not open until 11am.

• You must go at least one hour before closing.

• If the manager is not there, you will ask to speak to the person in charge.

• That person may have to call the manager to get permission; please have patience.

• Sometimes the manager may be busy – please be prepared to wait.

• If the location has a drive-thru, you will have to ask to go behind the counter.

• The shop pay includes reimbursement towards your purchase, there is no additional reimbursement.

• Client only pays for audits conducted within these guidelines.

When you arrive at your assigned location, AFTER you introduce yourself to the manager and give them the letter of authorization, be prepared to:

• Count all exterior windows

• Measure all exterior windows, height and width

• Check for window clings if they are places inside or outside of the windows.

• Take up to 16 photos inside and around the restaurant’s location.

• Please ensure the photos are CLEAR and the full view.

• Take a few at different angles to ensure you get the best shot.

• Check if there are water taps on the fountain.

• Check the fountain units for manufacturer labels/plates.

• Confirm the types of fountain units (reference photo on the survey)

• Count number of valves on the fountain unit.

• List the brands on the fountain unit.

• Check the lemonade unit and puree flavor options.

• Check the tea units.

• Make a small purchase of your choice and get a receipt; you must upload the receipt for validation of location.
